The State of the Universe: 6 Months later.

Howdy Folks, "The Blind Sniper here"

Wow, has it been that long since i posted? I mean the last time i checked was that I poswted in October 2010.. and then .. nothing..

Until now.

It's been 6 months since I last posted and in tht 6 months a lot has happened inside the Entropia Universe.. And I mean a lot.

First off First Planet Company (FPC) is no more. That's right folks the folks who ran Calypso were bought out by SEE Digital Studios (SDS as it's called now) and things have definitely improved. because it seems that FPC couldn't handle losing players right, left and center, so they did the honorable thing. They put themselves up for sale, and SDS really bought them out.. for 6 Million dollars USD. A lot of money for a planet.

Then there's the Flip side of the coin. Namely the Medusa Island Complex. A New area that is located southwest of Eudoria, and it was put up for auction in late December, and the winning bid? Just 300,000 PED (or about 30,000 Dollars. A paltry sum in My opinion. It's so paltry, that a lot of players have been bailing out of the game. Literally, especially the land owners.

Of course then there's Next Island, (Planet 3 of the Universe). They say that third times a charm right? Wrong. Next Island was partially created by NeverDie Studios, and just like the Previous Planet, (ROCKTropia), this has in a way become a world that doesn't quite work right.

Which brings us to today.. and the 4th planet in the Series, known as Planet Arkadia.

And no, that's not Mispelled either.. But where both ROCKTropia, an Next Island have faileed (Literlally) Arkadia, is quite the opposite. So what's the difference?

The answer is this: Arkadia's CEO Emphatically would NOT launch untila vast majority of the systems were in place, and there were plenty of blueprints for everyone to have.

And they were projected to launch on May 24th, 2011. So you're probably think with the way MindArk acts, that this goal of May 24th, 2011 wouldn't be reached on time. Well you're only partially right. It wasn't, but not a major delay. Try May 25th, 2011. Just 1 day late.. and you know what happened then? Half the planet of Calypso jumped ship, and moved over to Arkadia, and for the last 10 days, Arkadia has become a bit of a thriving community, and some of the former Calypso residence are planning on staying.

Last night (June 2nd, 2011), it's amazing that I ran into the CEO of Arkadia, and instead of receiving a lot of complaints from the players who talked to him, he got a lot of positive feedback.

A lot.

In short, me and a friend looked at the overall Market of the Entropia Universe, and get ready for a shock, cause 20% of the market is Arkadia driven. That's right 20%. And folks keep coming back or staying on Arkadia. That's an amazing thing. A world that is just as alive as Calypso was back in it's heyday just 5 years ago.

So yeah, things are improving. So then this brings up my next post:
